Better input

We have received some good feedback from our users of Alphabet and Ladders. The main issue has been how to select the destination, where the kid should go. It can’t be too quick since an accidental touch from one player could ruin the game. Therefore, the player must hold the finger steady for more than one second. However, this is not obvious when you are new to the game, and it can get a bit frustrating, tapping all over the display, and nothing visible is happening. Well, there was an animation playing, but it was obscured by the player’s finger… argh.. a stupid mistake when developing with a mouse-cursor and not a touchpad…

The easy, and rather obvious solution once you think about it, is to add a huge circular selection cursor. It can be seen even with a quick tap, and it is big enough not to be obscured by the player’s finger. The size also ensures that the animation, the closing of the circle, is easy to see, and understand.
